Are you feeling sick? Have you been injured? Whether you need immediate hands-on care or caring medical advice, RISD’s Health Services Center connects you to the services you need.
The Health Services Center located at 72 Pine St., 2nd Floor. Appointments can be made by phone (401-454-6625).
Our experienced nurse practitioners are trained to diagnose and treat conditions. They also have advanced clinical training in such areas as women’s health and adult primary care.
Services are offered at no cost to active RISD students but additional charges may be incurred for related medical procedures and medicines.
First aid for minor cuts, burns, stings, or injuries, plus non-emergency care for severe colds, flu, allergies, fever, sore throat, cough, ear/eye pain, headaches, and stomach or urinary problems.
Pap smears, pregnancy tests, emergency contraception, contraception counseling and prescriptions, and sexually transmitted disease (STD) infections testing and treatment.
Physical exam, lab work, blood draws, medication administration (injections), screenings for high blood pressure or cholesterol, diabetes support; weight and nutrition counseling, and substance abuse counseling. Learn more about RISD's immunization requirements and recommendations.
Inclusive and supportive services and resources for LGBTQ-specific health concerns, including sexual health.
Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infection (STIs).
Do you need specialty care, or have a chronic or complex health problem? We can link you with medical specialists in the Providence community for one-time or continuing care while at RISD — from chiropractors and dermatologists to cardiologists and orthopedic surgeons. If your medical situation requires care beyond what Health Services can provide or you need tests that we do not offer (such as x-rays), then we will assist in a referral to a specialist or an urgent care facility.
